Thailand tourism ministry plans to cancel the Thailand Pass system and not force tourists to buy health insurance from July 1

According to Thai media reports, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand will propose to cancel the Thailand PASS system and do not force the purchase of health insurance to attract more foreign tourists to enter Thailand.

According to the previous regulations of the epidemic pipe, from June 1, Thai citizens enter the Thailand Pass system without entering the country, but foreign tourists still need to register at the Thailand Pass system to submit passport information, vaccination history and health insurance. In order to be more convenient for foreign tourists to enter, today, Minister of Thailand Tourism and Sports Papa said that it will propose at the New Crown Epidemic Management Center meeting on June 17 that from July 1st, Thailand, which is required to register for foreign tourists entering the country PASS system and non -enforcement tourists purchase health insurance. The relaxation of the above policies will help stimulate foreign tourists to go to Thailand, especially tourists from neighboring countries.

According to the latest data, as of June 6, a total of 1.4 million foreign tourists entered Thailand. In the off-season of tourism (May-September), the Thai National Tourism Administration targets 500,000 foreign tourists entering the country a month; in the peak tourist season (October-December), it attracts 1 million people to enter the country a month. This year, Thailand’s goal of tourism is that through the tourism industry’s revenue of 150 billion yuan, attracting 70-10 million foreign tourists to enter the country, and the number of domestic tourists reached 160 million.
